European WONCA Conference for GP Family Practices

We were delighted to attend the European WONCA Conference at the Dublin Convention Centre at the end of September, where we met lots of GPs and family doctors practicising in Ireland and all over Europe, who are passionate about haemochromatosis and helping patients. Thank you to our great volunteers as always, Brendan and Anna who helped out at the Conference and spoke to many GPs and trainees about haemochromatosis and distributed information resources and packs over the four days of the conference.

WONCA, The World Organisation of Family Doctors, https://www.globalfamilydoctor.com/ is a not-for-profit organization and was founded in 1972 by member organizations in 18 countries. WONCA now has 133 Member Organizations in 111 countries and territories with membership of about 500,000 family doctors and more than 90 per cent of the world’s population. WONCA represents and acts as an advocate for its constituent members at an international level where it interacts with world bodies such as the World Health Organization, with whom it has official relations as a non-governmental organization and is engaged in a number of collaborative projects.

Thank you also to the Irish College of GPs who collaboratively worked with the WONCA Europe team to organise a great educational programme for Irish and European attendees.
