Men’s Health Week 2025

The Irish Haemochromatosis Association was invited to attend the annual Traveller & Roma Health Fair for Men’s Health Week in Phoenix Park, Dublin in June. Thank you to Michael Collins and John Collins at Pavee Point for helping us to share health information on haemochromatosis and chat to attendees and families at our Information Stand. The day was packed with fun-filled events for all the family and over 250 young men participated in a Soccer Tournament and other sports activities.

The Irish Haemochromatosis Association is now a member of the Men’s Health Forum and was part of the Planning Committee for Men’s Health Week this year. Our aim, along with the Mens’s Health Forum is to encourage and promote positive men’s health on the island of Ireland. The theme this year was ‘shoulder-to-shoulder’ to show that men of all ages are unified, strong, resolute, supportive and connected.

For Men’s Health Week, everyone was asked to put these positive traits into action and to work together to support the health or men and boys in Ireland. ‘Connecting for health’ is about: policy makers ensuring that men have the resources to live long and healthy lives; service providers offering appropriate tools, advice and support to males; men taking small practical steps to improve their own health; everyone looking out for each and after each other.

Thank you to Colin Fowler and all the 80 plus representative organisations who were part of the Planning Committee for the Men’s Health Forum on the island of Ireland!
