General Practice Nurses are the backbone of primary care in Ireland – and we were honoured to join the IGPNEA Annual Conference in Portlaoise this year.
With the generous support of the Hospital Saturday Fund, we partnered with IGPNEA to deliver practical venesection training to over 80 nurses – strengthening care for patients nationwide.
Huge thanks to our brilliant nurse trainers Michelle Dannaher and Margaret Lee Dobbin, to Roberta Tuckey for her stand-out organising skills, her great administration skills and stellar support and to the entire committee – especially Sharon Kinsella (National Chairperson) and Rita Pender (Director of Nursing Education) – for their incredible leadership. We would also like to extend a huge thank you to our volunteer Anna McCarthy, who continues to support our patients and attend conferences and events to talk about haemochromatosis and how to improve patient care and treatment.
