We were delighted to attend the Birmingham Haemochromatosis Conference, supported by the National Institute for Health and Care Research and the Toureen Group. Organised by Howard Don, Past President and Trustee of Haemochromatosis International and David Head, former CEO of Haemochromatosis UK, the event included wonderful speakers who volunteered their time to share their expertise with the patient community.

Following the event, we would like to extend a huge ‘Congratulations’ to Alma Morse, who was
honoured with the prestigious British Citizen Award at the Palace of Westminster, for her outstanding
contributions to society and more specifically, to the Haemochromatosis community. Alma administers and manages on a volunary basis, the well-known Haemochromatosis Family Facebook page, which is a great resource for haemochromatosis patients in the UK and worldwide. Well deserved Alma!
