EFAPH (European Federation of Associations of Patients with Haemochromatosis) are looking to recruit new board members onto their Board. EFAPH is an umbrella organisation of European haemochromatosis representative organisations and charities who support patients in their respective countries. EFAPH’s primary objectives are (1) Information (2) Awareness and (3) Support:
1. Information
To inform the general public and health professionals (particularly GPs) about hereditary haemochromatosis in Europe so as to promote individual and family screening through reliable testing.
2. Awareness
Educating the general public and health professionals about:
– Early diagnosis
– Best practices
– Quality of life
– Family screening
3. Support
Providing psychosocial and legal support to patients and their relatives and to support research in iron metabolism, particularly in Haemochromatosis.
